introducing, “Armani”

Those of you that have been following me on Twitter and Facebook know that I got another dog over the weekend while I was in North Carolina. You also know that I’ve been having the hardest time coming up with a name for him.
That I already have a pit bull terrier named “Diesel” meant everyone thought his name should be “Octane”, “Unleaded”, or something like that. At first I was going with something hyper-masculine because he’s a pit bull as well. But after being with him and seeing him interact with Diesel, I’ve come to realize he’s really mild mannered. Not really a “Leonitus”, if you will.
So then I made the turn to more quirky-creative. Names on THAT list included, “Guido” (which I was told was very derogatory), “Mr. Sherman” (which I was told is something a guy might name his member…really?!) and “Buddy” which I vetoed because it’s too cliche.
I named Diesel after the clothing brand and I wanted to stay in that vein with the new guy. Brands, stores, etc. I thought it a good idea to be relevant to what I do/wear/use.
Enter Armani. A brand/designer that I have been a fan of for quite some time, the name seems to fit him really well.
So there. Done. Finally!
A brief history of Armani’s background: At one year old he was given to the local humane society to be put down after testing positive for heartworm. He was then treated for heartworm and survived it. He spent the next YEAR at the humane society as no one would adopt him. Then I come along and scoop him up for Diesel. He’s a bit “shell shocked” and has a little PSTD due to his last year’s living situation, but I think he’s going to pull through with flying colors.

Great name. Beautiful dog. Question: Should PSTD actually be PTSD for post traumatic stress, or has Armani been sleeping around? :~)
