some changes for gradient overlay

If you’re a client or close friend/relative of @traciedycus (my business partner and project manager) then you received an email about her stepping down. If you didn’t, then keep reading.

In her words…

Dear Clients, Friends and Family,

One year ago Toby and I set out to create our dream company in hopes that it would one day employ us both full time. While Toby has been employed full time with Gradient Overlay I’ve been employed full time with another company and only part time with GO… although, a lot of the time working for GO felt like another full time job.

After much debate and prayer I have decided that leaving Gradient Overlay is in the best interest for me right now. While I wish Toby all the best and success for our little company we poured our hearts and souls into I need to do what’s best for me and that’s getting some sleep at night. Haha.

But in all seriousness I cherish the relationships that have been built through GO and maybe one day if things turn around for Gradient Overlay I will be able to come on board full time and finish the dream that Toby and I started once upon a time.

So what does this mean for Gradient Overlay? Good question. I’m not really sure to be completely honest. I do know that I can’t keep working the same amount of active projects (35-45 at a time) without a project manager. What did I do before Tracie came along? I managed fine on my own with smaller clients and less active projects (maxing out at around 20).

I’m not giving up on GO, I just feel God leading me in a direction that I normally wouldn’t go… it’s time to rebuild a better, stronger house on this foundation.

What about your current clients? I will continue to push those projects through and do them well and still keep it open as a freelance business on the side. On the side of what though, I’m not sure… that’s where YOU come in.

I’m currently seeking a full time position in a social media role. Anywhere. And I mean ANYWHERE… location doesn’t matter to me… ok well preferably someplace warm all year round :-) I want to work with a company that understands the added value of social media where there’s room for growth. Do you know of anyone hiring or looking for this type of person? You can view my completed profile on Linkedin that has my resume and work experience.

It’s not WHAT you know, it’s WHO you know and I’m hoping someone out there will know someone that I can connect with. The Entertainment industry is very appealing. I hear Burbank is beautiful ;-) But seriously… this needs to happen asap.

Thank you to everyone that made Gradient Overlay what it was. I had a blast working on some great projects and met a lot of really cool people. I’ll forever have this experience.

I’m ready to move forward.
