the water and the blood

I love the look and feel of this video by Mark Cowart. The attention to the details of the room and not just a static shot on the person talking is super well done. Also? I’ve wanted to do this to my walls forever!

having a genius, not being one

This Ted Talk by author Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love) revolutionized my view of creativity and the creative process. I won’t go into it all now because she does such a great job of it herself. Watch it and let’s discuss!

Pretty powerful, huh? I love what she says about HAVING a genius, and not BEING a genius. As creatives and artists, can we really separate ourselves from our work?

Where does your inspriation come from? What is your genius?

What’s your reaction to her talk?

The villains of Disney tell their side of the story through the “Cell Block Tango” from CHICAGO. This is brilliant!

The Paper Kites – Bloom

I JUST heard about this group’s new single from a good friend over in Australia. The Paper Kites is a band out of Melbourne (pronounced “MEL-bun”) Australia. That’s all I’ve got right now. You can check out their MySpace page here.

Watch their new video below!

new fav commercials

I don’t do this enough: show some really great commercials. I don’t know why, I mean, I majored in Advertising for cryin out loud. Plus, that’s really the only reason why I watch the Superbowl (and anything on ESPN for that matter).

Here’s a great one from Coke for the FIFA World Cup in 2010. (Leave a comment below with your thoughts on these)

An older one from Captain Morgan. Great execution:

Great concept from Heineken

The 2010 Emmy Nominees for Best Commercial all in one. I believe Old Spice took home the award… they should have anyway:

Another emotional envelope from Coke:

Probably one of the sexiest commercials I’ve seen:

I remember watching this one in college:

And of course… my next place of residency:

Ok, and one more for the Kiwis:

Arlington Rap

We’ve all heard of Arlington, VA, right? Mostly known for being home to the US Military’s Arlington Cemetery and The Pentagon. I’m learning now that it has a very young, professional culture as well and it’s a place that I want to call home. (That is as soon as I find a place to live there).

Here’s a rap video that gives the low down on Arlington. As you can see, it’s far from ghetto.

about me

My dream is to be part of something bigger than myself and to influence culture for the greater good.
