cre:ate 2009
I’ve been working with Randy Elrod for a few years now so when he asked me to come on board for his annual arts conference I couldn’t resist. Every year, early adapter churches from around the world gather in Franklin, TN to talk shop, get ideas and inspire one another.
I established this logo back in 2006 based off of what Randy had already done from previous years. It’s fresh, current, approachable and pronounced, “recreate”. I didn’t want the year to over power the lower case letters of the logo, so I made them all the same size.
I was asked to come up with the look and feel for this years conference and execute that theme across several different media.
Growth was my main inspiration. I wanted a look that was fresh and optimistic. The font choice was almost important to me. I wanted an accent font that would be peppered throughout the conference, but wasn’t dominating or competing with the already established Eurostyle. I chose Today as the script font because I haven’t seen it used yet and it fits really well with the artwork. The body copy throughout the book is a new favorite of mine: Minion Pro. It’s a great body copy font and preformed well throughout the book.
I love branding. So here’s how it all played out:
Registrant Book Cover
Book Interior Spreads
