Snow Patrol App for iPhone

Wow. Talk about thinking outside the box. Snow Patrol’s new album “A Hundred Million Suns” now has its own application for iPhone and the iPod Touch. And best of all it’s FREE!

The app houses all of the bands “special features” for the CD like lyrics, behind the scenes videos and links to third party sites: Facebook, myspace, etc.

The technology and creativity on this is what blows my mind. You can zoom in and out of the starfield, tap on an origami star, pinch it to open it and read song lyrics for a particular song. Other origami stars house behind the scenes videos of the band in the studio.

Behold evolution, y’all.

my 1,000th song!

Wow. I’m just hittin’ all kinds of milestones here lately, y’all. Tonight I downloaded my 1,000th song from iTunes!!

After watching “Rescue Dawn” (a film about the escape from a Vietnam POW camp) I immediately purchased the soundtrack. Then I was reminded of the 1997 movie “Paradise Road”. A fact-based recounting of a group of women who are imprisoned on the island of Sumatra by the Japanese during World War II and how they used music as a relief to their misery. Vocal orchestrations. I downloaded the entire album as well.

So, the 1,000th song in my iTunes Downloads playlist is “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” from the film. I know… it’s nothing sexy or hip/trendy/cool. But it IS beautiful and worthy of the $.99. Check it out when you get the chance.

Anyone else hit 1,000?? I’m sure most of you have probably far reached it. If so, what’s yours?
